place to another until he's right back where he started. Most of the monsters are
recycled from previous episodes, but at one point Boni lands on this peculiar
polyp-looking organism, with multiple mouths, squirming tentacles and a large tube

Experimenting with potions, Berk accidentally transforms himself into a scaly beast

One of my favorite monsters, the Vile Pile is created by Berk throwing his garbage
down the trap door, creating a disgusting mass of writhing, bubbling refuse with a
pair of retractable eyestalks, a seldom-seen green mouth, and a hose that spits up
yellow gunk. Berk causes the pile to explode when he plugs the hose with a bat, or in
his own words, "stuff this implement right up 'is tube."

Hunting mushrooms for the Thing's breakfast, Berk runs into one fungus that sprouts
a face and runs away. Rather than pick the perfectly normal mushrooms he set out to
collect, Berk is hell-bent on catching the mobile one. I guess it's his pride.

Actually appearing briefly in "Don't you Open that Trap Door," this viciously clawed
monster with rolling eyeballs is quickly dispatched by Berk with his "whomper." The
rest of the episode features the return of Bubo.

While Berk struggles to unclog a drain, a many-eyed monster emerges from the trap
door and chases him. A nice, simple monster design, the sort of thing a kid might
think is under their bed.

Boni is ferried back home by a large fish, a swarm of moving mushrooms (the same
fungi you can see here), a dinosaur-like beast he addresses as "reptile" and a huge
bird we only see as a set of claws. Not much to say, but they're all fairly cute.

Three identical monsters (except for color scheme) and a baby-sized fourth emerge
from the trap door and ransack the kitchen. The three large monsters only walk in
perfect synch, and make noises in near-synch, one after another, while the little one
is simply hyperactive.

As Berk changes back to normal, Drutt gets ahold of the nasty stuff and grows into a
fiercer, but still ridiculous-looking beast that Berk doesn't recognize.

When the nasty stuff finally gets to Boni, he just grows a bit bigger and uglier; but
unlike normal Boni, he's strong enough to bounce around on his jaw and chases after
Berk and Drutt as the episode ends.

This blind, brown-skinned creature comes sniffing around for the eyeball monster
and eventually sucks the other creature completely into its vacuum-like face. One of
the simpler monster designs, but really interesting and even a little creepy.

This large, eerie-faced monster does nothing but fly around and whistle, making a
nuisance of itself until Berk chases it off. He regrets it when he realizes he had a big
mess to sop up.

This episode features one of the most evil-looking monsters in the series, a small
blue demon that gleefully plays with reality. It changes the sizes and colors of Berk
and Drutt, while creating two identical Bonis and giving one of them a weird, warty
new body. In the end, it seems like Boni dreamt the whole thing, but we're shown the
demon hiding up in the rafters. Maybe it causes nightmares?
