's 2015 Horror Write-off:

Submitted by Miranda Johansson

(Note: The following is a transcript of a broadcast made by an anonymous broadcaster on CB radio, somewhere in the American south or along the East Coast. It is one of a number of similar broadcasts made on a particular frequency during the late summer and fall of 2015. The broadcaster never reveals anything about herself, except for a few details: she consistently makes references to her job as a truck driver; she appears to identify as female and sometimes refers to herself as "Joanne" or "Jo"; and she claims to be haunted by a bizarre being which she refers to as "the Angel".)

I've been losing time again.

(7 second pause)

I used to be a Christian, I guess. Presbyterian. I'm not, anymore.

It's not that I don't believe in God and angels. I know they're real, clearly. It's just that… well, I figure submission is a natural part of worship, you know? (short pause) And if God itself ever turned its awful eyes on us, our submission would be a simple fact, no matter if we liked it or not. I guess knowing that makes the whole business of being religious seem…

(The broadcaster trails off; there is a 1 minute and 22 second long silence, the longest pause by far in any of her recorded broadcasts. When she speaks again, her voice is flat and mechanical.)

Holy holy holy Lord God of hosts heaven and earth are full of your—

(The broadcast ends abruptly. Other users begin speaking, all clearly irritated that the frequency has been occupied for so long. None of them mention the contents of the broadcast.)
