The Rhyme of Old Mister Reek

Beware, beware, ye good little children.

Beware ye children, of Old Mister Reek.

He goes, and creeps, and crawls, and glides.

He slithers, and sneaks, and slides.

And woe betide, all ye good little children.

As you scurry through the streets at night.

For he will entice you with kind words.

But they don't sound quite right.

For he will lure you with sweet treats.

But they don't look quite right.

For you may run, but he will chase.

For you may hide, but he will seek.

Beware, beware, ye good little children.

Beware ye children, of Old Mister Reek.

With limbs too long, and belly too thin.

With his ragged suit and too-wide grin.

With his musty hat, and sallow skin.

And if he should find ye, Old Mister Reek,

Then pray and pray, ye good little children.

Pray that Mother will give the shelter you seek.

For if he should find ye, Old Mister Reek,

Then never again will the light find your eyes.

Beware, beware, ye good little children.

Beware ye children of Old Mister Reek.
