Walking

Whenever I think about it, that’s always the first thing that comes to mind: it was tall.
Tall, tall, tall. Taller than any building that i had seen. Taller than a mountain. Taller than a planet. Taller than a star. Taller than our galaxy turned on its end. Maybe taller than anything in existence. I don't even know. Maybe it wasn't taller than any of those things. All i know is, it was tall.
It was fast.
Whenever I think about it, that’s always the second thing that comes to mind: it was fast.
Fast, fast, fast. Faster than a fighter jet. Faster than a shooting star. Faster than the earth, as it rockets through space. Faster than the expansion of the universe. Faster than light. Maybe faster than anything in existence. I don't even know. Maybe it wasn’t faster than any of those things. All i know is, it was fast.
Come to think of it, it looked like it was moving at a snail’s pace, slowly striding across the horizon of the strange, alien landscape I found myself in. But when it truly sank in how big it was, i realized it was moving across the sky at speeds undreamt of by any living being.
It had legs.
Whenever I think about it, that’s always the third thing that comes to mind: it had legs.
Legs, legs, legs. Two legs. Four legs. Thousands of legs. Pillars of creaking bone and rippling muscle. Stronger than any metal. More powerful than any engine. The most extreme, insane appendages ever possessed by any creature. Maybe it wasn't any of those things. I don't even know. All i know is, it had legs.
It had jaws.
Whenever I think about it, that’s always the fourth thing that comes to mind: it had jaws.
Jaws, jaws, jaws. Filled to the brim with hundreds upon thousands upon millions of teeth, white, sharp, glistening, shining, shifting, grinding. Strong enough to chew through a neutron star. Wide enough to swallow a galaxy. A galaxy cluster. A galaxy supercluster. A universe. A multiverse. Maybe it could swallow all of creation. I don't even know. Maybe it couldn't swallow any of those things. All i know is, it had jaws.

Its flesh was b e a u t i f u l

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. More beautiful than any work of art. More beautiful than the voice of the greatest singer. More beautiful than any landscape or creature in all of nature. More beautiful than all the comets and stars and planets and nebulas streaking across the sky. More beautiful than the human mind, so complicated and simple. More beautiful than anything in all of existence. This, i know for certain. It was beautiful.
