MUSIMON
The design templates of many Appmon are recycled more than once, so here we have another "rabbit with hand ears," only this one is a music app, while the other we saw was a dance app. Makes sense at least!

TELLER
MON
This cool looking appmon is a fortune teller with a "crystal ball" of pure data, catlike ears, no actual torso or legs and a very neat metal mask. I love those porthole eyes, and you can't tell at this angle, but it has a little tiny tube-like mouth. It technically doesn't even have arms, either; it uses its two cables as arms, the same cables every other Appmon has!

TRICK

How can you possibly not love this one?! It's a magician who's also a hat! A hat with a cat-eye mask, a bow tie and jaggedy teeth! I also like the top of the hat bursting open with streamers, confetti, its cables and a tiny little Biyomon.

PERORI
MON
This is a digimon all about eating, and I like how much it looks like a caricature of a giant salamander with its beady little eyes and wide, toothless mouth. It also wears a cowboy hat for no reason, unless the reason is that it ends up looking like a "westerner" that way, so it's just a joke about us loving food that much. I also really like the knife and fork symbols on the arms!

BOOK
MON
Adorable! This one is an ebook app, obviously, and another whose cables are its only limbs. A book with an eye on its cover is fairly common fantasy imagery, but this one is laid out so the covers are like the "sides" of its head, and the gold trim on the spine ends up looking like a smug little mouth. That's all so clever!

DICE
MON
Wow, the entertainment type is just packed with good designs, isn't it? Lots of nonhumanoids! Dicemon is JUST a die with a cute, spooky eyeball for its "1," but what else do you really need here?? I really like those lovely magenta lashes, too.

DOGA

Love this video appmon too, with a tiny robot body and huge flatscreen head. The "play" icon feels like it represents a single eye, while of course the jagged audio line represents its mouth!

DRAW
MON
This was one of my favorites when I first wrote an article about appmon a few years back. It's an art app, but they made it a sort of gooey, ghostly green fish monster emerging from a tiny tube of paint! Such a unique, fun idea. So many of the Appmon have an iconic, "major character" feel to them that it's a shame most of them are Standard level and have no "appropriate" evolved forms.

DRESS
MON
Another of my favorites! A fashion app who takes the form of a stitched-together cloth doll with a pincushion hairdo. There's such a perfectly spooky charm to this one's design, and I'm quite fond of the color scheme as well.

COOK
MON
They couldn't have remained that exciting for long, I guess. Cookmon is alright, but really just a short, green man dressed as a chef. He's up against some stiff competition here.

GASHA
MON
...Stiff competition like Gashamon! A maniacal gashapon machine whose transparent head, multiple legs, menacing teeth and two very different "eyes" - one the crank, and one the coin slot! - are all clear references to the classic Nanomon or Datamon!RATING:

LUCK
MON
Another gaming machine, but this one a gambler that barfs up coins! The green, expressionless eyes and cartoon human noise on its slots make for a very original and even pretty freaky effect!

TAROT

Sadly, this advanced fortune teller isn't nearly as cool looking as Tellermon. It's even got a whole body on it! BOOO! BOOOOO whole bodies!!!!

DREA
MON
Much more interesting is this "dream app," whatever that is, who takes the form of a dapper baku with a creepy, porcelain mask! It's also got a rotating halo of sheep, which is great. Why don't I more often see sleepy sheep and baku combined together?!

MEDIA
MON
Mediamon? Just..."media?" A "media app?" A little too broad, isn't it? I guess it's just a digimon that can manipulate both audio and video. It also seems to be an upgrade to those arm-headed bunnies.

VEGAS
MON
The ultimate gambling Appmon, a cute roulette monster with the form of a devilish jester-like casino girl. It's a fun combination for one of the more humanoid ones, and I suppose Appmon were overdue for an Impmon-like design.

COORDE
MON
This appmon is a "coordinator" in the fashion sense, though I honestly don't feel like all that junk it's wearing looks all that coordinated. Too busy. I think it's also supposed to kind of look like a tanuki?

EFFEC
MON
Yeah, that was definitely a tanuki, since Effecmon is supposed to be a fox. This is an evolution of the art-based ones, and not as cool as any of its predecessors. Not terrible - I like that hat a lot - but it's certainly no goopy fish.

"The personification of entertainment," so, kind of a DJ god. It's so-so, admittedly "cool" but not my cup of tea...and that seems to wrap up the entertainment type. Lots of big hits, but as usual, the most powerful are the least interesting aesthetically.
