ANCIENT BEETLEMON
Oh thank god, something good! I ACTUALLY like their ultimate ancient insect digimon, even if it's not as lovingly detailed and grisly as Kabuterimon. It at least has that way cool six-eyed stag beetle for a lower body, while its upper (false?) head is curiously eyeless and mouthless. I've oddly enough never really seen an arthropod centaur like this, i.e. a humanoid insect protruding from a whole different species of nonhumanoid insect. It's a fun way to combine the stag beetle and rhinoceros beetle together, which are seen in Japan as classic rivals...and so are red and blue oni, now that I think of it, also traditionally with one horn vs. two horns. Was that an additional theme to Kabuterimon and Kuwagamon all along?!
We're late mentioning this, but each of the Ten Warrior digimon has a different elemental attribute. Ancient Greymon is fire, of course. Ancient Garurumon is light. Beetle here is thunder! Each supposedly "passed down" its attributes to all modern digimon of the appropriate type, so this one's basically the original root of all insect digimon.RATING:
