ARGUMOEBEYES

CONCEPT BY MATT PEACH

CLASS: BIOCONSTRUCT

VARIANT CHARACTERISTICS:

The Argumoebeyes is variation of the Amoebeyes and shares much of its biology, but develops a significantly larger, denser and tougher body housing several dozen motile eyemoeba. With an even slower metabolism, its main body moves at only half the speed of its more common counterpart and can remain absolutely motionless for more extensive periods of time.

Engineered to diligently protect a single point or object at a time, it cares only about whatever it was assigned to protect and will keep several of eyes fixated upon the subject at all times. It will refer to this subject exclusively as "it," while referring to all other objects and entities by name or crude description. If it fails to keep "it" accounted for or otherwise does not possess an assignment, it usually retracts its eyes and slumbers until provided a new task, though there are reports of individuals that declared an "it" of their own volition, typically some arbitrary object or organism that caught the creature's interest. Unmatched in its original purpose, the Argumoebeyes also has its use in active combat, particularly if assigned to guard a more vulnerable monster whose abilities will not be inhibited by the larger beast's protection.

TACTICAL MECHANISMS:

TOUGH FLESH: the monster's outer tissues are exceptionally thick and durable, with several inches of leathery skin.

EYEMOEBAS: the monster's shapeless, mobile eyes move slowly, but can surround, smother and eat away at organic matter.

LASERBEAM: each eyemoeba can emit a deadly laser.
