QUELLEDIRGE  CONCEPT BY Z GILLAN CLASS: BIOCONSTRUCT VARIANT CHARACTERISTICS: A mutation of the Eledirge. The proboscis of the Quelledirge extends into a large and complex apparatus that broadcasts melodious vibrational patterns as the monster plucks a series of muscular tissue cables. Unlike the Eledirge, its melodies slowly lull most other monsters into an unconscious state and are regarded by many creatures as dull, saccharine or even depressing. A notable exception are Unknown-class entities, which regardless of their origins and physiology appear to find the droning soundwaves highly appealing and energizing, excitedly drawn to the Quelledirge and reluctant to interfere with the source of the sound. If threatened, the Quelledirge may defend itself with a single powerful, booming burst of noise that leaves many creatures paralyzed and deaf, though this severs its musical cables until they can regenerate over the course of several days. OBTUSE MELODY: the monster produces music that monsters of paraterrestrial origin find enticing, but other monsters often find unappealing and tranquilizing.
