BIOLOGY: Like a true shade, the Emeyebee's metabolic processes are fueled more by radiation than by any outside matter, though it may engulf small, metallic objects and minerals with a particular attraction to magnetite. Mineral intake is used in the construction of the Emeyebee's complex nanocells, which it injects into other organisms through its sticky, bulbous fingertips. These microscopic constructs establish a two-way link between the host nervous system and the Emeyebee facilitating selective modification of host memories and knowledge. The Emeyebee's "cap" contains a sophisticated array of biodigital sensory equipment, steadily scanning the creature's surroundings and analyzing everything from energy signatures to the chemical components of living organisms. The being can retract itself into this same cap to navigate through air, and may vent excess energy in this form to burn significant holes through solid matter. BEHAVIOR: Emeyebee spend most of their time engrossed in research, studying principles of astrophysics, quantum theory and biology. They are generally deadpan and serious, but their dry and cynical sense of humor may show through to those they trust. APPLIANCE: An Emeyebee's many functions can be useful in corporate espionage, scientific research or general defensive tactics, though evidence suggests that their original purpose was to protect Mortasheen city and its denizens from some extraterrestrial or even extradimensional threat. The nature of this threat is no longer known, and the normalized frequency of otherworldly activity around the city has rendered their duties somewhat obsolete. Craving purpose, many modern Emeyebee leave Mortasheen city in search of small, isolated pocket civilizations they may keep in continued ignorance of the outside world. QUASIBIOLOGICAL: the monster's mix of organic and inorganic components renders it highly resistant to extreme environments and many microbial or chemical weapons. ANALYSIS WAVE: the Emeyebee can scan the energy readings and chemical makeup of its surroundings. MEMORY WIPE: the Emeyebee can erase select memories with a touch.
