CLASS: ECTOSAUR
PARABIOLOGY: Requiring a high intake of fresh, raw meat to fuel its highly active lifestyle, this Ectosaur devotes most of its existence to an unending search for prey. Effectively blind, what were once eyes have adapted into capsules housing whiplike exonerves, sensitive to the vibrations of the tiniest passing insect. An Eviscergeist will pursue any source of meat to cross its path, but craves intestines above all else. Presented with a significantly larger monster, it may simply phase through the victim's flesh to feast from within, rapturously gorging itself upon still-living entrails. The Eviscergeist emits a scream similar to the sound of metal tearing through metal. SLIME SECRETION: Eviscergeist slime is blood red with a saliva-like consistency. It quickly dries into a blackish, flaking crust and smells sharply metallic. HAUNTING ACTIVITIES: Unlike other Ectosaurs, an Eviscergeist loathes to remain in a single territory for long, quickly growing bored by familiarity. Its sheer curiosity is second only to its hunger, testing every new discovery for edibility or mere destructibility. Eviscergeist tend to regard themselves as the "very cleverest" of all beings living or paraliving, though their intelligence is only somewhat above average. EXONERVES: the Eviscergeist's antennae-like external nerves can detect nearby movement from all directions. ACROBATIC: while not as fast as the Scuttlegeist, the Eviscergeist is agile and possessed of quick reflexes. CLAWS: the monster's powerful talons can, like the rest of it, phase in and out of tangibility. Contents copyright Jonathan Wojcik
