CLASS: WORMBRAIN

   One of the most fearsome of all Wormbrains, the Manticoil consists of a human-descended puppet-beast bred by the ancient brain-flukes into a brutally violent killing machine, gorging on whatever meat it can find to keep its parasite colony nourished. The largest of its worms aids in prey capture, emerging from the beast's posterior to attack with its venomous sting. Female Manticoil entomb living, paralyzed prey in large "pots" of hardened mucus and soil, birthing a single hungry pup and several larval worms into each.

   Manticoil produce a variety of oddly melodious sounds, often compared to trumpets, flutes and gongs.
