Aptly named, the Orifice bears the largest proportionate oral cavity of any monster in the modern world, opening directly into a cavernous black stomach lined with sucker-tipped cilia to firmly hold prey as it is slowly dissolved. The enormous teeth are actually hinged at the root, and swing open like a gate while food is sucked inward by an invisible telekinetic vortex. The same power makes this giant monster nearly weightless in normal atmosphere, allowing it to drift through the sky like some ghastly dirigible.
In ancient times, these monsters were used as living prison cells, with the worst offenders digested completely over the longest period of time and more minor criminals released with only partial flesh loss.
