SCRAP MONSTER MARATHON V
Or "Urchin head," a small monster whose cranium is protected by hundreds of black, crystalline spines. Longer spines are fragile, hollow, and filled with a stinging acid.
Its sensitive, tentacular upper lip bears its only eye. A simple, primitive monster with no unusual abilities besides an insatiable hunger and formidable size.
One of the largest "starter" monsters, possessing a heavy mace-like arm and nearly impervious skull.
A devious monster that grows its own toothy, detachable traps armed with paralyzing saliva.
It prefers to spend much of its life curled into a tight sphere, protected by its many knife-like blades as it rolls at high speeds. When unfurled, it attacks with its snapping jaws and electrical tendrils.
The Morlome is not very bright, but the polyps it drops can burst into a web of gooey, corrosive tendrils, entangling prey in a burning net that begins breaking down their tissues for easier consumption.
It seems to produce a limitless supply of thin, superheated needles from its proboscis; hardened saliva it fires with the force of a gunshot. It can pull its head and limbs into its leathery, spherical body and bounce about wildly.
A speedy, intelligent monster with powerful talon-jaws. Simplistic, but effective and quite popular.
Its proboscis can stretch several times its resting length, allowing its jaws to rove about for prey. The gas it breathes causes the illusion that its true body is elsewhere.
Its huge eyes have adapted away from visual function and into a set of wombs continuously gestating its many small, extraneous skulls. Skulls ejected from its body employ their long, thin tongues to snag passing creatures and reel themselves in for a powerful bite.
Its two tentacles are similarly adhesive, and its jaws can telescope to twice the length of its appendages.
