TACHINITOID

CLASS: ARTHROPOID

The fusion of a human with a parasitic fly. Flightless but a great leaper and climber, the Tachinitoid paralyzes prey with a venomous sting from its tongue before plunging its clawed ovipositor into the same wound and injecting a tiny larva, which grows rapidly on a diet of blood and intestinal contents until powerful enough to burst from the host's abdomen. Both male and female Tachinitoid can implant these parasites, but only the offspring of a fertile female will undergo metamorphosis into an adult.
