ENTRY 04: HAND THAT FEEDS!
You can't have a horror house without at least one disembodied hand, or in this case I guess just a creature that's naturally mostly a hand or hand-like, since it doesn't appear to have been severed from a body and it's a "mutant" rather than some sort of undead. Its eight irregular digits give it a fleshy mite-like appearance, and the palm gapes into an equally asymmetrical mouth with three clusters of crooked, hooklike fangs. It's the kind of mouth you'd give to a monstrously exaggerated crab, but Duskmourn already has that, and it's busy having a skull for a head!
I find it interesting that this is 2/2, because it's presumably the size of a regular hand, or Lana in the story snippet wouldn't have mistaken it for one in the dark. So the Hand That Feeds can both inflict and sustain twice the damage of most hand-sized creatures or smaller, making it a pretty tough little scamp, and it has an ability that can even double its attack power. This also gives it menace, which means it can only be blocked by two or more creatures, and this usually implies the creature in question has grown larger or scarier. This is a hand, though; when it "menaces," does it possibly manifest a second hand?
It's a simple one, and I guess I didn't have a lot to say about it, but it's cutely named and has a cool design. It's also our first red card, meaning it's a creature more aligned with anarchy and chaos than our last three!
