Pokemon Type Reviews: FLYING
Continuing our type reviews, we may as well get flying out of the way early, because while I did describe "normal" as essentially a "non-type," it's this one that really qualifies, since the presence of the "flying type" on a Pokemon literally only means that the Pokemon is capable of flight. It's like having a "running type" or "jumping type." If abilities had existed in the Red and Blue era, they might have just given all of these Pokemon "levitate" and called it a day.
As more of a "skill" than a "type," Flying is virtually always paired with something else - at least normal - to indicate that the Pokemon at least has a body to do all that flying with, and seldom ever does anything particularly creative or memorable with the typing itself. These really are just a whole lot of Pokemon who all happen to fly in the air, virtually all of which do so with a conventional set of wings.
But a type it is, and I'll still treat it like any other.
