HISUIAN TYPHLOSION

Legends offers three classic starter Pokemon, but they're all from entirely different generations, and the first is Cyndaquil from Generation II. It evolves as usual into Quilava, but its final form is a new regional Typhlosion that surprisingly gains ghost typing. It has a calmer, more serene personality, with purple eyelids for a slightly more goth tinge, and it burns with more supernatural-looking purple flames. It's basically been reimagined as a yokai-like magical beast that guides souls to the afterlife, which is interesting and certainly unexpected. I guess I like it well enough...but it remains cursed with a weak idle pose in 3-d. Most Pokemon are.
