Alolan Raichu

It was fairly predictable that the pikachu line would get in these new regional variants, but surprisingly, that didn't actually include pikachu. For once, good old fully-evolved Raichu has gotten some fresh attention. Taking on a surprising electric/psychic typing, it uses psychokinesis to generate energy and levitate its own tail, which it rides like a surf board - an apparent nod to the "surfing pikachu" once exclusive to Pokemon Yellow.

It's not all that amazing, no, but it's just so refreshing to see Raichu get ANY new attention over any of its unevolved forms. About the only thing I can criticize here is that I really liked the sharper, thinner shapes on standard Raichu.
