Growlithe and Arcanine

This is another of those pokemon that doesn't really do anything for me. Sorry guys, I know a domestic dog is kind of a necessity somewhere in this generation, but Vulpix and Ninetales pretty much already filled my personal "fire type canine" quota and pull it off with nicer designs, to boot. Like I said, I'm not really a fan of those triangular anime eyes so many pokemon have; they're just kind of minimally functional, stock anime eyes without a lot of personality.

For once, though, I find a two-stager really upping its personality when it evolves. I like that Arcanine is such a big, shaggy tiger-like dog, with its unruly hair and big bulky proportions. It really is HUGE, too, like, bigger than a whole human.

Growlithe and Arcanine are dogs that breathe fire. If that's your favorite thing in pokemon, more power to you, but I'm personally pretty moot...and we've had, what, a hundred zillion twillion more fire dogs since? It feels like it, anyway.
