The green-skinned, alternate evolution of Poliwirl was almost an entirely different looking frog, and it's hard to really decide which one looks better.
Both are pretty much just green, cartoon frogs, but final Politoed leans more to the cutesier side, while beta Politoed has a "meaner" little face and much less of a neck. It's a more realistically shaped frog, perhaps even the froggliest out of all the known pokemon frogs, but it doesn't stray quite as far from Poliwhirl as its final look, so I can see why they decided to change it even if I'm leaning slightly more towards the beta version.
