Mega Excadrill
As expected, Excadrill pours all its mega energy into the giant drill formed by its claws and "helmet." Each of the three pieces is now much larger and longer, with a segmented appearance and copper-colored ridges that form a continuous corkscrew blade when the pieces are closed together. And while the arm-drills of classic Excadrill are formed by three claws each, the mega's claws have blended together save for a smaller thumb, which I think looks visually interesting. I'm still mixed on Excadrill's design overall, but it's fun, and I'd say this is exactly what its mega was meant to be.
I will say, I'm still hoping we might get a star-nosed mole in the future, and I'm glad they didn't "expend" that on this mega form, but it's still overdue! In fact, one of the most interesting things about "moles" is that nearly every major land mass has at least one, but they're not all necessarily related to one another, so really having some sort of mole Pokemon ought to be as traditional as having a butterfly, a monkey, a cat or a dog!
