The Earth was a formless void, and darkness covered the face of the deep, and the Spirit of the Lord floated over the face of the waters. And the Lord said: Let there be light! And then the light was swallowed by the waters, leaving behind a great new darkness. And the Lord saw that the darkness was good. And then the First ghost of the Light rose from the waters, and said thus: The curse I shall lay upon thee is the curse thou has lain upon me. And the ghost left, and it was dark once more: the First Night.
And the Lord said: Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters! And the Lord made the dome and separated the waters that were over the dome from the waters that were under the dome. And it was so. And the Lord named the dome [UNTRANSLATEABLE]. And the Second ghost of the Light rose from the waters, and said thus: Thy curse upon me has brought me madness, so that I lie split in half. Therefore I shall split myself in three to curse thee forevermore. And the ghost left, and it was dark once more: the Second Night.
And the Lord said: Let the waters above the [UNTRANSLATEABLE] be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear! And it was so, the waters above being swallowed by the dry land, which the Lord named Earth; and the waters below he named the World. And the Lord saw, that it was good. And the Lord said: Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of ever kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it. And it was so. The Earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth bearing fruit with the seed in it. And all plants and trees fed on the hidden waters, giving their seeds in return. And the Lord saw that it was good. And the Third ghost of the Light rose from the waters, and said thus: Look upon me, and recognise the Mark of thy curse as I coil – for my skin has turned to scales. By these scales do I measure my curse for thee, and know that it is a mirroring hex. And then the ghost left, and it was dark once more: the Third Night.
And the Lord said: Let there be lights in the dome of the [UNTRANSLATEABLE] to separate the [UNTRANSLATEABLE] from the night; and let them be for sings and for seasons and for nights and ages, and let them be lights in the dome of the [UNTRANSLATEABLE] to give light upon the world! And it was so. The Earth was pregnant with light, and all plants and trees drank of this light until there was none. And all the lights tasted of the hidden water, and learned to hide from it, flowing far into the waters of the World. And the Lord saw that it was good. And the Forth ghost of the Light danced along the Black plants and fruits, and said thus: I am the mirror-child of curses, and I come with more than infinite knowledge of damnation. My curse for thee is naught but the sharing. And then the ghost left, and it was dark once more: the Forth Night.
And the Lord said: Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let them fly above the earth, above the dome of the [UNTRANSLATEABLE]! So the Lord created the Primordials and let them free to swim and fly in the waters of the World. And he saw that it was good. Then he blessed them, saying: Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the World and multiply on the Earth. As they did, the plants and trees would catch them, growing new roots within the flesh of the Primordials and gaining their strength. And the Fifth ghost of the Light rose from the dried carcass of a Primordial, and said thus: I am a child of the First and the Second ghost, and of the Forth if thou believes in other magickal mirrors. As such my curse is beyond theirs, and so shall my curses be for thee. In my hands I hold the twin spirits of Hunger. The one to my left I give to the Earth, so that it shall learn and strive for more. The one to my right I give to Thee, so that if thou shall ever be among twelve more of thy blood, One shall awaken to taste my curse. And then the ghost was strangled, and it was dark once more: the Fifth Night.
And the Lord said: Let the Earth bring forth living creatures of every kind; cattle and creeping things and wild animals of the Earth of every kind. And from the corpses of the Primordials rose the wild animals of the earth of every kind, which where the first to flee and die from the starving plants and trees. Then rose the cattle of every kind, which were used by the first as a distraction. Then rose the creeping things of every kind, which knew not if they hung on to wild animals or to cattle, but hoped it was the former. And the Lord saw that it was good. And the Sixth ghost of the Light rose from the dead, clad in an armour of bones, and said thus: Six curses thou have laid on my House, and now my House has laid onto thee six curses as well. Thou shall taste no remedy from my hands, and so I break the curses of my house in half – three we shall bear forever or until the death of forever and three more we pass onto these waters. And then the bones turned to dust, and the dust mated with the light of the World, begetting an endless number of angry daughters, each marked by a different colour than the other. And then the daughters banished the light to the unknown and unknowable centre of the World, leaving behind only darkness and colour.
And the Lord said: Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over all that walks upon the Earth and all that is within the World! And the Lord created humankind from the wombs of the endless daughters, and in the images they saw were they created, and they were to be hermaphrodites. Then he blessed them, saying: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over every living thing upon the Earth and within the World. But man could not hear the Lord, and instead fashioned Angels to worship. The First Angel was born as man discovered the Hunger of the plants, and as they fled them they built the temple and wrote the holy chants of the Angel. None knows either, for it is useless knowledge. The Second Angel was born as man discovered the Madness of their children – shapeless, formless, translucent beings that bore both and neither of the colours of their parents – and as they slayed them they built the temple and wrote the holy chants of the Angel. All know where a temple is to be found, and these Templars know the chants to stifle the divine madness their cannibalistic rituals bring forth. The Third Angel was born as man discovered how he could multiply, which is holy suicide, and as they fell upon each other in hungry bloodlust they built the temple and wrote the holy chants of the Angel. The temple is as a man stealing the name of another, becoming something more, and the chant is as a man’s name dividing itself in its parts, becoming many things less. The Lord saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. And the Seventh ghost of the Light came as a man bearing no name, and said thus: I have seen the nature of thy curse and I have been thus blinded by it. Forever we shall scar thee in our suffering, although thou might not even bear notice. I bring no curse but the eternal war that man bears in this world, and the colour-made-war-made-poison that shall overflow in other worlds – I bring no curse but the oath of the 666 damned by thy Word. And then the ghost left, and it is dark once more: the Sixth Night.
Having fulfilled his work, the Lord blessed the Sixth Night and hallowed it, and he rested from all the work that he had done.Man still weeps.
