SHARKMON
See? THERE'S some living shark projectiles! I can't believe it took until 2026 for there to be a plain old Sharkmon. The only other shark Digimon before this was the Pulsemon evolution Divemon, a humanoid hammerhead shark, which is very cool and nicely designed, but it's probably not what shark fans really wanted the very most in their heart of hearts. It's also too bad Divemon had to be a perfect stage, so it can't ever hypothetically evolve INTO Sharkmon, but alright, I guess they can be friends or rivals. Or lovers. Whatever you want! It's two sharks!!!!
Sharkmon's design is just what it would have been if it were one of the first few dozen Digimon. Its tail and its fins are mostly organic pale blue flesh, though its front four fins also have chunky claws on them, and its very first pair have serrated knife edges for good measure. Most of its head and body, however, is encased in armor resembling a sleek submarine, albeit with sharky eyes and jaws. I like the detail of the hoses and cables that just sort of dangle loose, as if Sharkmon broke free from whatever those were supposed to be connected to.
You know one of the VERY best things about Sharkmon, though?
Those goofy, cartoon shark-headed torpedoes it launches actually have a Digimon name, Plutodumon, which comes from Isistius plutodus....a species of COOKIE CUTTER SHARK!!
Will these eventually get the "kodokugumon" treatment, and turn up as a Digimon species independent of Sharkmon? I certainly hope so, and its profile is certainly written as if Plutodumon is its own thing, simply informing us that Sharkmon "can launch Plutodumon" with no further explanation at all.
