Baby pokemon continue to be rather extraneous and very understandably shelved, but I'm definitely glad to know that the toxic sludge heaps were ever under consideration for one, and this little puddle of ooze is pretty damn cute. You could almost mistake it for a Ditto, which might be another reason they decided against it, except for the addition of a black "nose" that may have been intended to represent a pacifier. I like Grimer a lot, but I also like the thought of the Pokemon world having these little bitty poisonous amoebae slithering around - cute and innocent but probably already a biohazard!
