I very nearly had no contest at all for 2020; I was busier than ever, and the contest had grown so much over the years that by 2019, it took a lot out of me just to make sure I'd actually read every entry in time. But, at more or less the last minute, I decided I wanted to at least try a "mini" contest: a one month entry period, shorter stories, and a limit of two entries per author. The result was a quick, easygoing 85 entries to the usuall 100 or more, which still isn't too shabby, and in fact, the overall number of individual authors is still comparable to other years - we just had a lot of authors who would submit anywhere from five to several dozen stories!

That's not to say there aren't things to miss, of course. I have loved to see some of you crank out huge volumes of work these last few years, sometimes submitting massive, epic adventures with in-depth world building and heavily developed characters.

If we do it all again in 2021, there will probably be yet more changes, possibly a middle ground between how we did things this year and the years before. For now, enjoy the results of what's basically the Creepypasta Cookoff's HALLOWEEN FUN SIZE edition!

IMPORTANT STUFF:

- If you don't see your entry, it's an ERROR! I never exclude one without contacting the author about it first! Contact me if something is missing; any lost or late entries will be put up together in a few days!

- If you need your story to be changed or removed, just ask! Like I said, some errors are inevitable! Authors have also been known to remove stories from the public archive so they can be submitted for publication in real books and magazines!

- All stories are the property of their respective authors! If you want to do a youtube reading or otherwise adapt them, please contact the writer first!

- PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS ON STORIES YOU READ! Authors love to hear what stood out to you about their work, and I love reading people's thoughts as well!

- THESE ARE [LARGELY] HORROR STORIES! What gives one person an entertaining sense of dread can be more viscerally, personally disturbing and even entirely unfun for another; tread carefully if you're sensitive to certain topics, but don't feel bad, and don't shame or belittle anyone else for their limits. All humans have them!

THIS YEAR'S WINNERS

Like last year, ALL WINNERS can choose a pin from my etsy! Unlike last year, we're not going to worry about separate categories except the special category for what I feel are the creepiest of the winning stories! Also, while there's always been a few "stragglers," this is the first time I'll be making it official that MORE WINNERS will be added later, based on further feedback and reactions! I did still have to crunch a lot to read and evaluate the whole selection, so feel free to nominate some of your own favorites (and why!) in the comments below!
