TOMORIMON & ONIBIMON
Spooky babies! Tomorimon was introduced as a Baby I stage for a virtual pet dedicated to ninjas, oni and other distinctly Eastern-flavored Digimon, based on the ghostly "fireballs" said to haunt graveyards alongside various yokai. The design is just a burning blue ball with a single red digimon eye and a single tiny fang, but that's still more elaborate than its mythological inspiration! Obviously this is what Necromon from our last review would probably start out as, and all the other ghosty-type mons.
RATING:
The second baby stage, Onibimon, upgrades the little fang to a whole jaggedy-toothed crescent smile, and drops the surrounding flames for a ghostly head-wisp, nubby arms and a flamelike tail. A top-notch simple ghost, on par with the Marioverse Boos for how well it could populate a platforming game level.
