Halloween 2025: Menards!
Written by Jonathan Wojcik
In my last video review, I showed off these two absolutely wonderful Halloween snails from Menard's, but that still isn't everything cool Menards has put out in 2025! I know! I find that hard to believe myself!
Monster Figures
These two tiny figures are for Halloween village displays, but what a fascinating selection! An orc or ogre sort of character with a mace, and a squat mummy with a very bizarre face, its solid orange pupil-less eyeballs and upturned nose looking more like a UFO alien than a human mummy! I like its brickwork base, too. Both of these look very much like miniatures for a fantasy RPG.Eyeball Brew
A cool little witch's cauldron statue, with simple boot-shaped "feet" and an eerie eye symbol on the front. Neither the feet nor the eye are overly alive-looking enough that we can be sure of the cauldron's sentience, but it overflows with a multitude of both gleaming green bubbles and a number of eyeballs! I think at least the contents of this cauldron are alive, if you ask me!Animated "Witch"
Menards refers to this as just a witch, but it's a witch's broom, with eyeballs, that scoots around and wiggles and cackles, apparently! Hell yeah! This isn't even the first sentient mobile broom we've ever seen, but I think the last one was many years ago, and didn't have eyes. That's an important development!Biohazard Skull
A melted gooey skull which is finally green, thank goodness, but it's unfortunately over $40. To be fair, that's because it's also a light-up mini fog machine that talks! Love the unsettling choice of dialog, too. "What did I fall into? I can't feel my body." Don't worry dude. You're gonna be fine. Honest.Witch Frogs on Mushroom Creatures?!
Another fungus! And such fung ones indeed indeed, each mushroom having a couple of goofy little eyes on its cap and an entire realistic green frog sitting on top. A frog also wearing a witch's hat! Is the frog a witch, a witch's familiar, or is that just this particular frog's funny hat?? (every frog has one)SKULLSHROOM!
ANOTHER FUNGUS. This one is a detailed statue of an amanita-colored mushroom, but the cap is also made of cracked bone with the eye sockets, nose and upper teeth of a skull growing out of it. RAD!Ghostshroom trio!
And AGAIN. MORE FUNGI. Now we have THREE pale mushrooms emerging from a stump, each with a slightly different sheet-ghost style face on the cap! I like how the black mouths and eye holes are just uneven enough to feel like realistic decay in the fungal tissue, or maybe even the chew marks of hungry little invertebrates? All except for the smaller, bottom-most shroom, whose mouth hole extends into little smile, with a pair of fangy buckteeth to boot. Actually kind of reminds me of the face of a potoo bird or a frogmouth, but that's just me.WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT THIS SITE!
